Good job!

Be safe out there - you're riding on roads full of idiots who have bumpers and doors... and you don't.

Woo Hoo, congrats but Birra's right I've had friends and family riding bikes for years and all their wrecks have been because the car driver didn't give them the right of way or claimed they couldn't see them. It's them you got to watch out for :)

Finally home!

Yeah, woke up at 4:30am. Got to the airport in great time. Went therough the "Expert Traveler" lane and bypassed about 250 people waiting at security. Went through my first "Body scan" system. Had breakfast on US Air's dime then headed to the gate.

Boarded the plane, stuck in a middle seat.

Just as we should be pulling away from the gate the Captain comes on. He says the plane just came out of maitenance and the log books were not filled out properly..there would be a slight delay.

We were on the friggin plane that broke yesterday that stranded us in Charlotte for the night!

It took over an hour for them to straighten up the log books. Grrr!

Got home and had to call to see if my car was fixed. We had dropped in off at the shop on Monday as it had a horrible vibration. Bad news was that it wasn't fixed...Good news was it just needed a new tire! So I picked it up from the garage and took it to the tire shop. About an hour later it was good as new!

Headed home and went out for a 2 hour ride on the bike. I have my "Re ride" of the 2nd day of riding class and liscense test tomorrow.

U.S. Air sucks!

I should have been home at noon today.

Instead I am in Charlotte, NC!

Our plane broke and basically they lied to us all day about how it was going to be fixed. They didn't cancel the flight until all the alternate flights were fully booked. So we are staying at the worlds oldest and crappiest Days Inn by the Charlotte Airport tonight.

On the plus side, we went out for several beers at Hooters and then out for Sushi for dinner.

Hopefully we get home before noon tomorrow.

If you can get them to pay for Sushi and a night on the town in Charlotte, it's not ALL bad...

Trip update

Well we have spent a day and a half in the customer's plant and we can't reproduce the problem they were having. Today it was only 102 but still about 125 in their plant.

Some good points: the customer employees are very apprciative of teh attention we are paying them. They haven't pulled the "pissed off customer" deal.

The food here is awesome! We had po boys and gumbo for lunch, blackend alligator and crawfish etouffe for dinner mmm.

Tomorrow we are at the customer's until 3:00pm and then are driving to NOLA to spend the night there in a hotel in the French Quarter. A little "pay back" for roasting next to the coffee this week!

Travel sucks

Have to agree with Birra...PHL blows.

45 min wait to get through security.

Got on the plane and away from the gate and we got "ground holded" for almost an hour.

Got into Charlotte, made our connection. Got on the plane and had to wait over half an hour for a mechanic to come fix the plane.

Got to NOLA and had to search high and low for the fantastic rental car co. my employer uses. Finally found the waiting spot and had to wait almost 1/2 an hour for the shuttle van.

The rental co. didn't have any full size cars so we ended up with a mini van.

Major construction on I-10 between NOLA and Baton Rouge.

Damned few hotel rooms in Baton Rouge due to a youth soccer tournament.

it was 103 freaking degrees here today AND we were at our customer's plant (a coffee roasting plant). it was about 125 in there.

There are 20 sceaming soccer kids NOT being watched by 4 "soccer moms" outside my hotel window (albeit a level down).

Joy!

Sounds like a helluva trip.

About the only thing in common with most of my unpleasant trips was... having to be at PHL.

Common denominator...

Busy as a Bee.

Wow.

We have been swamped busy!

David's School has one into OT due to the strike earlier in the spring. Yesterday was supposed to be the last day, but now it's the 29th. He is skipping the last day to go to a Christian Music festival with the Youth at church. He has to skip the last day of THAT to make it to his Boy Scout Summer Camp. Then he has two weeks until the Scout National Jamboree.

The practices for the Choir event Gina and I are singing in started last night. Currently there are over 500 members of the massed choir and it was quite a logistical nightmare at the church where we rehearsed. I did this three years ago and it was a blast so, we are looking ofrward to it.

I've been riding the motorcyle back and forth to work every day the weather allows. I'm getting a lot more comfortable. I do my "re-ride of the second half of the class on the 26th. I will certainly NOT go out drinking and dancing teh night before and will be in bed WAY before 3:00am!

Up until yesterday it looked like next week was going to give me a break in the action. However it's not to be. I found out late yesterday afternoon that I have to travel to visit a customer who is having problems in Baton Rouge and have to be there Monday and will have to stay through Wednesday maybe Thursday.

I will try to be on more often if I can.

Sorry I wasn't around much this past weekend, I was crazy busy.

Put brakes on my car, rode the bike a few times and did a bunch of other stuff.

The kids got together and conspired with Gina and took me out to dinner Saturday night to celebrate my BD. We went to a Japanese Habachi / Sushi place. MMMMMM SUSHI! a couple Sapporo beers, some Saki, Habachi steak and shrimp AND the kids paid! Awesome!
